Terms of Service

Agreement

By accessing or using HYP Yoga, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and subscribers.

HYP Yoga is operated by Joshua Judd as a sole proprietorship under the name HYP Yoga.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction) to create an account or use the interactive features of HYP Yoga. The texts themselves are freely accessible to all visitors regardless of age.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Use a strong, unique password and do not share your login details. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at namaste@hyp.yoga.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. See the Termination section below for details.

The Texts

The classical yoga texts presented on HYP Yoga — including the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras — are in the public domain. The specific translations, formatting, and presentation on HYP Yoga are part of the platform's original work. You are free to read, study, and quote from these texts. You may not scrape, bulk-copy, or systematically reproduce the site's presentation of these texts for commercial purposes.

Your Content

Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you create on HYP Yoga, including journal entries, Voice Sparks, and profile information.

License: By posting public content on HYP Yoga (such as public journal entries or your profile), you grant HYP Yoga a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the platform as part of its normal operation. This license exists solely so the site can function — for example, showing your public journal entries to other users. You can revoke this license at any time by making your content private or deleting it.

Export: You may export your journal entries and Sparkmarks at any time using the built-in export tools.

Sharing: When you use the Share feature to share a verse, sūtra, term, or journal entry to Facebook, Threads, or another platform, you are initiating a direct interaction with that platform’s services. HYP Yoga provides the sharing tools and pre-formatted text, but the content you post on external platforms is governed by those platforms’ own terms of service. Share links include UTM parameters that help us understand which content practitioners find worth sharing — this data is statistical and not tied to individual user identity beyond what your browser transmits to the destination platform.

Conduct: You agree not to post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, spam, or that infringes on the rights of others. HYP Yoga is a space for the study of yoga philosophy and practice. Content should reflect that spirit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards.

HYP Yoga Link

HYP Yoga Link is an optional messaging feature for practitioners with a free Starter account or above. When you opt in, you become discoverable by username to other opted-in practitioners, and you can send direct messages, create group chats, and share photos, files, voice memos, locations, and passages with them. Opting in is your choice, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. The feature may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time.

Security: Messages travel encrypted in transit (TLS) and are access-controlled so only the participants of a conversation can read them. They are not end-to-end encrypted — message content is stored on our servers (Supabase) and is technically accessible to HYP Yoga for the limited purposes of operating, moderating, and securing the service. Do not share information through HYP Yoga Link that you would not entrust to a service with this security model.

Zero tolerance for abuse: Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, spam, sharing others’ private information, and impersonation are prohibited in HYP Yoga Link. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You can report any message and block any practitioner directly from the conversation. We review every report and act — typically within 24 hours — by removing content, blocking the practitioner, or revoking their access to HYP Yoga Link. We may remove you from HYP Yoga Link, or terminate your account, for conduct that violates these standards.

Location and media: Location sharing is one-time and only happens when you explicitly choose to share it; we never track your location in the background. Media you send is stored privately and is visible only to the participants of the conversation. Deleting your account removes your HYP Yoga Link messages and the media you sent.

CorePower Pro Link

CorePower Pro Link is a private messaging feature for practitioners designated as CorePower Pro. It lets you send direct messages, create group chats, and share photos, files, voice memos, locations, and passages with other members. It is offered as a courtesy to a specific community and may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time.

Security: Messages travel encrypted in transit (TLS) and are access-controlled so only the participants of a conversation can read them. They are not end-to-end encrypted — message content is stored on our servers (Supabase) and is technically accessible to HYP Yoga for the limited purposes of operating, moderating, and securing the service. Do not share information through Pro Link that you would not entrust to a service with this security model.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You can report any message and block any member directly from the conversation. We may remove you from Pro Link, or terminate your account, for conduct that violates these standards.

Media you send is stored privately and is visible only to the participants of the conversation. Deleting your account removes your Pro Link messages and the media you sent.

AI Companions

SwamiGPT and DharmaGPT are AI-powered study companions. They are tools for exploration and reflection — not authoritative sources. Their responses are generated by large language models (OpenAI and Anthropic) and may contain inaccuracies. Always cross-reference important claims with the source texts or qualified teachers.

AI Companion usage is subject to the rate limits and feature availability of your subscription tier. We may adjust these limits as the platform evolves.

Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions (Aspirant and Teacher tiers) are available exclusively through the HYP Yoga iOS app and are processed by Apple as in-app purchases under the Apple Media Services Terms of Service. By subscribing, you also agree to Apple's terms in addition to these terms. We never see or store your payment card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Refunds are issued by Apple at their discretion through their Report a Problem portal — we cannot process refunds directly. For other subscription questions, contact us at namaste@hyp.yoga.

Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your private content will be removed. Public journal entries you have shared may remain visible in anonymized form unless you make them private or delete them before closing your account. You can also contact us at namaste@hyp.yoga for assistance.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if you violate these terms. This includes but is not limited to: posting harassing, hateful, or illegal content; spamming other practitioners or abusing the journal, profile, or messaging features; attempting to scrape, reverse-engineer, or exploit the platform; circumventing subscription tier limits or rate limits; impersonating another person or misrepresenting your identity; or any other conduct we reasonably determine is harmful to the community or the platform.

If your account is terminated for a terms violation, any active paid subscription will be canceled and you will not be entitled to a refund for the remaining billing period. You may still contact us to request an export of your personal data.

Intellectual Property

The HYP Yoga platform — including its design, code, features, branding, and original content — is the intellectual property of HYP Yoga. “Sparkmarks,” “Voice Sparks,” “QuickTerms,” “Hero Images,” “AI Sparks,” “Link AI Sparks,” “SwamiGPT,” “DharmaGPT,” “TapasAI,” “Sparkbar,” “Sparklights,” and “Temporal Lenses” are original feature names of the platform. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of the platform itself without permission.

Disclaimers

HYP Yoga is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep the platform accurate, available, and functioning well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free content, or that the AI Companions will always provide accurate information.

The content on HYP Yoga is for educational and study purposes. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, mental health services, or instruction from a qualified yoga teacher. Practice safely and consult professionals as needed.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HYP Yoga and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury resulting from yoga practice inspired by content on the site.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of HYP Yoga after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of HYP Yoga shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Colorado.
